My Panel Construction - Componets

Instrument Panel Ground Buss
Instrument Panel Ground Buss

The ground buss is a great idea that has worked out as designed.  The only problem I have with it has to do with my own poor planning.  I located the ground buss just under the top of the firewall which at the time seemed the best possible location.  Turns out that only one or two connections were required on the firewall side but the inside is another story with dozens of connections.  Locating it so high has proven to be a major obsticle to making the connections on the inside.  It is too high and out of sight to see and make the connections.
Instrument Panel Control Vision Switch Panel - This was a great idea based on my original panel plans but became less and less useful as I moved to a Dual electrical system (Z-14 AeroElectric Design).  I kept the system and have modified its usage to suit my requirements.
Instrument Panel Control Vision Power Indicator - Not sure how valuable this will be as I have bypassed much of what it provided.  The only value I may get from this will be as an instrument light dimmer.

Another one of those items that was a great idea and that I purchased when I had originally planned for the Blue Mountain system with some Garmin Components.  The Approach ProHub provides a great method of connecting all of your navigation, communication, and other avionics.

Great only if you piece together the components for your panel.  With the Dynon SkyView System, Dynon Transponder, Communications, and other components, the Pro Hub  is NOT needed.

SkyView™ HDX

SkyView HDX features improved displays, beautiful design, unrivaled control ergonomics, and an upgraded touch interface. Displays are compatible with all existing SkyView components and feature identical mounting profiles and electrical connections.

The SkyView system and the other Dynon Componets are a well integrated system that communicates between all of the components using a simple serial communications.  I decided to utilize only Dynon Components with a possible future addition of an IFR Certified GPS/Com unit.

Instrument Panel I purchased the top of the line SkyView HDX 10" EFIS display as my primary display.  I will add the SkyView HDS 7" EFIS display after the plane is flying.

The Dynon Comm Radios have a small panel control and a remote mount for the main unit.  They are also totally controlled by the SkyView System.
The Dynon Intercom system is only a two place unit but does interface with the Dynon System and provides sterio interface.  I can do without the four place requirement.

The Dynon Transponder is compliant with the 2020 requirements, is remote mounted, and it totally controlled by the SkyView System.
The Dynon ADSB is both an in and out unit compatible with the 2020 requirements.  A great addition to flying safety.
