Dave Tate - TR-4 #4052 Construction Photos

This shows the beginning of the many connections
and work that must be done on the firewall before
the installation of the engine is complete.  This
part takes a lot of planning to fit everything and
keep everything straight.
Dave's engine of choice is the Lycoming O-360
which produces 180hp.  Dave has also decided
to use a fixed pitch prop.  This shows the engine
and the mount just prior to attachment to the
firewall.

Left side view of engine installation.  Dave said
that he was having considerable difficulty trying
to fit the carb heat box withing the cowling.

Forward view of engine installation.  You can see
that Dave's work space was very limited.  Most
of the work to this point has been completed in
the equilivent of a single car garage.  Very Tight!
