This photo of the EFIS One Display shows how bright the display is
in bright sunlight. I saw this display at Oshkosh and can testify to
the clarity in bright sun. |
|
Three of the main units are shown here. The Display, Main Unit,
and Control unit. |
|
The main unit has all the connectors in one location and clearly marked.
This unit must be positioned so that it is level and in line with the
center line of the aircraft. The connectors are on the side during
flight. It only weights a couple of pounds. (If that.) |
|
The display (shown upside down) will just barely fit in the KIS panel
opening. It is shown setting on my original panel cutout which is to
be thrown out now. |
|
So it's to the saw and hand file to prepare the instrument panel cutout.
This is another fresh cutout since the holes in the original would
not work. This is a real pain in the butt but it worked and the results
were OK. |
|
Here is the display and controls set into the new panel cutout. The
EFIS takes most of the panel area. By the time the cutout for the DVD
drive is added the left side panel will be filled. The switch panel
was mounted in the lower portion of the panel but now, I am not sure where
it is going. |
